Manual Testing (Interactive) sessions can generate a video recording and execution report of the session. The report and video can be downloaded and used for a variety of purposes.
The general procedure for working with the report is:
- Launch the device to test on.
- Click on the Record button in the (left) control panel.
- Supply a name for the report.
- Perform the manual test.
- Click on the Stop Record button.
- Supply a test status (either Passed or Failed) and, for Failed tests, a Fail message.
- View the Single Test Report on the Reporting server.
Start the recording
To start the record mode of the interactive session, click the Record button.
Perfecto prompts for a name of the report file.
End the recording
When completed with the interactive scenario, click the Stop record button.
Perfecto prompts for a status to be reported for the test sequence.
- It Passed - the report will be marked as a successful test.

It Failed - the report will be marked as a failed test, and the tester will be prompted to supply a descriptive message.
Supply a message text that explains what failed in the test scenario.
View the report
To view the report - click on the View Report button at the bottom of the Recording completed dialogue and the Perfecto Lab will connect you to the Reporting server and display the Single Test Report (STR) for the execution:
Status information
The report shows the status of the test, as selected by the user in the Recording completed dialogue, in the header line alongside the report name, selected at Record start. If It failed was selected and a description was included - the description text is presented in the report in the right panel, just below the report header.
Play the video
The video recording of the interactive session is presented in the right panel of the report display. Use the video controls at the bottom of the panel to play the video session.
Accessing the report
To access the standard Perfecto report - use the icon in the upper right corner of the report header to access the report. This opens a new tab in the Perfecto Lab Reporting tab open to the execution report.
