If you face issues when restarting a device that goes in a failed state after you perform a reboot, this article is for you.

Problem

There is a limitation with these makes and models that have problems when restarting:

  1. All the Huawei, Xiaomi and Oppo devices
  2. One Plus 6
  3. Motorola Droid Turbo 2

Why is this happening

The issue is caused by the ingrained functionality that the devices fallback to the default setting for USB after a reboot – charging only. No commands can be sent to the device and the Perfecto platform cannot be loaded because of this reason. As a result the device gets marked as FAILED after restart.

What can you do if you need to restart?

You can open a case here ( https://support.perfecto.io ) and mark is as a DEVICE case, so it can be routed properly and the device engineer can start working on ii right away.

What Perfecto recommends

Typically, the best course of action is to fully disable reboot as an option from Perfecto side.

If you need to reboot the device, open a support case.

Happy testing!
