Resolve issue when device stops accepting commands

Problem

Sometimes when running a long test Chrome the cache fills up and causes some commands not to work properly.

Solution

You need to start the test with a clean cache, and if necessary also clear the cache midway into the test.

Clearing the Cache Manually

In some devices you can clear chrome browser cache through the device settings:

  1. Go to Settings -> Application Manager
  2. Go to Chrome -> under Cache click the “Clear cache" button
  3. Click on “Force Stop"

In some devices you can clear chrome browser cache through the chrome browser itself:

  1. From the Chrome browser click on the Menu
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Go to Privacy & Security
  4. Click on Clear browsing data

Use the Browser Clean Command to Clear the Cache

You can use also the browser clean command which will re-install the latest Chrome on the device, providing a brand new browser.

However, when run for the first time, the browser gives an "accept terms" pop-up that needs to be clicked. This can be done manually or as part of your test.
