You may want to set up a lock on a device when the device does not let you bypass the occasional requirement before setting up a fingerprint or facial recognition. You can enable the device lock from the device UI. You do not need to unlock the device for your tests because the Perfecto connection is kept alive, but if you explicitly lock the device, it will remain locked until you physically interfere.

Before you enable a device lock, make sure you:

  • Add the lock code in the description of the device. This way, admins and Perfecto Support staff can use the code in case of an emergency. This will save precious time when troubleshooting.
  • Set up the auto-locking timeout to Never. Otherwise, the device will lock automatically.
  • Do not restart certain Android devices. For details, see this article.

Note: Power-cycling is not supported on iOS devices with an enabled lock code. On iOS devices, when lock code is enabled, power-cycling is deactivated.
