If you want or need to setup a PIN lock on your device because maybe your device (like most of them) don't let you bypass the occasional requirement before setting up a Fingerprint / Facial recognition, this article is for you.
In order to enable the PIN lock for the devices you can easily do this from the GUI of the device without any problem.
You won’t need to unlock the devices for your tests, as the Perfecto connection is kept alive.
If you explicitly lock the device, it will remain locked until physical interference (case for the Data center colleagues)
Please bear in mind the following important topics:
- The most important one – please add the PIN code in the description of the device or in the Dynamic or Admin field in your Admin Panel (https://<yourcloud>.perfectomobile.com/nexperience/admin.jsp). More information on how to do this, you can find here. In this way all the admins and Perfecto Support staff will have be able to use the code in case of an emergency and will save precious time when troubleshooting.
- You need to setup the auto-locking time-out to “Never“. Otherwise the device will lock itself automatically.
- The power cycles of iOS devices will be deactivated, as Power cycle is not supported on iOS devices, when a lock code is enabled
- There are some Android brands that should not be restarted. You can find an article about that here.
