An iPad Pro 12.9 (2017 version) connected to an HSS will display a "black screen" whenever a high-detail image is on the device screen. The reason for it is that iOS allocates only 70 MB for the screenshot process - the Apple process responsible for grabbing screenshots - and in the case of complex images on the extremely high resolution iPad it's just not enough.
